The end of treatment

I took my last dose of Herceptin on Monday!!!!! YEAH!!!! I am so ready to be done and get my port taken out. I plan to do this the beginning of May if Doc Langdon says it's ok. Now, it's onward to the future! That would include healthy healthy living. The Mammogram I had done last week showed NO CANCER! I have such amazing doctor's and nurses. I'm going to miss seeing them every three weeks!

Last night we had a Relay for Life meeting. I spoke and told my story. It still brings a quiver to my lip and tears to my eyes to tell it. The audience was wonderful and even gave me a standing O. I don't think I've ever gotten one of those before! We also heard Lori speak about nutrition and exercise. Do you know that if you eat your daily requirements of vege's and fruits and exercise daily, you are helping yourself fight the chance of getting cancer? I'm not saying you won't get cancer if you do these things, but geez, don't you think carrots and strawberries are worth it! And, 30 minutes a day to exercise. Think about it, do you get a lunch break? Do you get breaks throughout the day. Don't think of it as all or nothing. You can do 3 ten minutes or 2 15 minutes. Last night I did house chores during commercial breaks of The Biggest Loser. I love that show!!!

So, my challenge to you, is to incorporate these two things into your life. Of course I feel the need for a disclaimer, I am not a fitness expert or nutritionist so do what you can do. But I can tell you that I've lost 20lbs by eating right and the healthy way.

I've added a cute pic of Daryl and I on our honeymoon but go to his blog to see a great slide show of some of our pics! And he has some great music.

I am so thankful for The Relay for Life family opening their arms to me!
