Another round of chemo down

Today went well. I spent four hours reading while the chemo dripped. My blood counts were awesome! I think I more white blood cells than I did when I started all of this! My platlets are still low and my nose membranes are swollen, causing the bloody noses. But other than that, I'm fine. At the end of my chemo session, a young adult and his father showed up. The dad has pancreatic cancer and was crying. I felt sorry for the young man. He said his mom just beat breast cancer and then his dad was diagnosed. He asked me questions and it seemed like he just needed someone to guide him. He asked if I force myself to eat. I think his dad is refusing to eat and his stomach gets upset. I told him about milkshakes and good receipes. I am beginning to think ice cream is the answer to more than we know! I tried to give him as much advice as I have learned and what has been given to me. Luckily, the American Cancer Society lady was just starting to talk with him when I was leaving.

Tracy had another surgery last week and while they were in, they took a peek with a camera and didn't find any additional cancer! She ROCKS, just like Rocky Road ice cream. See, ice cream is the answer. I am so thankful that her cancer didn't spread more. She has too much fun in life for anything to bring her down! What a champ!

After chemo, I went to the Imaging Center which is just across the hall. The lady was a "chatty Cathy" and I was so tired. She was very nice but I finally just told her that I was on information overload (she didn't know that the ACS lady had just talked to me) and I bought a few products and told her I would check in later. I did buy a water bottle that says CANCER SUCKS. I love it and it is my favorite color of green. It was a good investment. I can eat milk shakes out of it too, if I want! I am super tired and I hope that I sleep tonight. I didn't sleep well last night but I ended up getting about 5.5 restless hours of sleep. Darn steroids!!!!

I am thankful for the warm blanket my aunt made me b/c I used it to cover up all day at chemo. I am also thankful for all the wonderful nurses that are so kind to me and all the people they help each day. I am also thankful for Christmas cookies because they make people happy!

I just read your blogs. Tracy I am so proud of you. I can't imagine what it must be like and how hard it can be. You sound so positive and that is great! I am so glad you have your family and friends. Please let me know if there is anything I can do...whether it be to put chapstick on you, clean your house, or sing you some Joan Jett. I love you so much and I know you are strong enough to get through this. Although it is a very very sucky thing, you can do it! And I know you look pretty with or without hair. You have a beautiful face and a nice shaped head!!
Hang in there! Let me know if there is anything you need!
Love you tons!

Hi Tracy! Cary shared your news and your blog with me today, and let me just tell you, I am your new biggest fan. Your courage blows me away. Like Cary, I'm here for anything you need! I will send you all of my positive thoughts each day, but don't get too excited because I don't have a lot of those positive ones at any given time!!! Cancer DOES suck, but you are going to kick its @$$. I can't imagine how hard this is for you, particularly the hair thing, but I always did admire your ears. You've got real nice ears, kid. Oh, and you should know that cherry carmex is God's greatest creation (yep, even better than ice cream) so if you don't have any, you must invest. I will be following you faithfully... take care and the merriest of Christmases to you!! Love you!!! Braegan
